Payroll Clerk

Responsibilities:




  • Maintenance of employees? records in payroll system


  • Monitor and review time records in a Time and Attendance system, for proper approvals and submissions


  • Export / Import ?timecard information from Kronos Time and Attendance System into ADP system and get this information prepared for weekly, biweekly and/or semi-monthly transmissions (as applicable)


  • Verify pay data and review final payroll registers, before sending final transmission(s)


  • Files and maintains paperwork each payroll; according to company retention requirements


  • Prepare, sort and distribute paychecks / paystubs to multiple locations


  • Generate and distribute management reports


  • Manually calculate pay for new hires, terminations, etc


  • Administers and monitors garnishment orders


  • Prepare requests and produces manual payroll checks


  • Ensures employee has correct federal, state and local tax withholdings


  • Work with ADP and Kronos to answer payroll related questions and resolve occasional system problems


  • Work with HR and field contacts to resolve employee issues and ensure accuracy of paperwork / data entry


  • Run multiple reports from ADP and ADP Reporting for auditing purposes,? following each pay cycle (as applicable) ????


  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end department functions


  • General Ledger process following each pay cycle in order to prepare for finance month-end reconciliation


  • Update various Excel spreadsheets for future reconciliations


  • Other duties as assigned

Key Knowledge and Experience:




  • Competence with ADP software (preferably Enterprise V5), ?Kronos Time and Attendance System (version 8 or higher) and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.


  • Minimum two-year experience processing a payroll for 1000+ employees in a private company.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of wage & hours laws, garnishment regulations, taxation (including multi-state and local withholdings)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
