Summary: The Cytogenetics Laboratory is a core analytical facility involved in the analysis of cellular genetic markers from human tumors that assists in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
Under general supervisor, the Cytogenetics (FISH) Technologist primarily performs analysis and reporting of FISH specimens for a variety of clinical, academic, medical, and industry clients.
Knowledge of specimen setup and G-band analysis is desirable. The Cytogenetics (FISH) Technologist is required to perform laboratory work in a GMP/GLP/GCP environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze FISH for hematological and oncological probes
Prepare clinical specimens for FISH and cytogenetic testing, such as bone marrow, peripheral blood, and lymph nodes
Set up specimens, harvesting, slide making, and banding
Preferably analyzes G-banded slides
A focus on routine specimen analysis and reporting results is desirable
Provides overall assistance to the laboratory staff at the discretion of the laboratory director or primary supervisor, with the goal of improving efficiency of laboratory operations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other Life Sciences
Minimum 2 years experience as a Cytogenetics Technician or Technologist engaged in analysis preparation of FISH hematological and oncological probes
Minimum 2 years experiencepreparing for MDS panels, AML panels, and other types of oncological testing panels
Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
Laboratory Management Systems (LMS) proficiency
Excellent work ethic, with ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner under general direction
Good professional communication skills, including verbal and written
Willingness to complete other duties as required

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
