Microdissection Technician

Under the general supervision of the Microdissection / Histology Supervisor and Medical Director, the Microdissection Technician is responsible for the day-to-day performance of solid tumor H&E screening and microdissection procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of responsibilities include (other duties may be assigned):
Assists the Microdissection/Histology Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the microdissection department.
Maintains and implements laboratory procedures. Ensures compliance to applicable policies and procedures by laboratory personnel. Recommends changes as needed.
Performs manual microdissection or laser captures microdissection of tumor specimens.
Performs and documents the operation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of microdissection equipment.
Communicates, and keeps Microdissection/Histology Supervisor abreast of laboratory deviations and non-conformities.
Fosters a unified culture and promotes a positive work environment by collaboration, cooperation, communication, and mutual teamwork.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in medical science-related field.
One year laboratory experience in pathology, histology, cytology or similar.
Relevant qualifications in the technical aspects of pathology and histology.
Ability to work under routine and high pressure situations in an accurate and timely manner.
Practical and current knowledge in pathology and histology.. Experience in working with a team of laboratory professionals in a highly-regulated environment.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations. Strong quantitative and problem solving abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills.
Effective interpersonal and team skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
